Dear Public Health Representative,
I am writing to you as a concerned constituent, & to bring to your attention critical issues within American healthcare that pose significant risks to public health and safety.
As stewards of public health, consumers like myself believe it is important for your office to acknowledge and address the challenges we’ve been facing over the last years with the explosion of unregulated healthcare treatments, services, and providers in the Body Aesthetics industry and the solutions I would like you to implement in safeguarding my well-being.
CSL Therapy Organization is the leading global authority in the field of Body Altering Aesthetics with courses, guidelines, and standards of care accredited in 12 countries. They are dedicated to promoting professionalism and safety within the industry. They specialize in providing research-based data and best professional practices for three distinct modalities: Incisional Science, PostOperative-Induration Science and Technology, and Body Bioengineering (Body Contouring).
Over the past 8-10 years, the organization has witnessed a concerning rise in cases of incompetence, medical negligence, and malpractice within the Body Altering Aesthetics industry. These issues stem from unregulated education and training programs that fail to uphold rigorous standards of healthcare professionalism and safety. Educators without medical backgrounds are teaching courses that fall outside the scope of practice of established healthcare professions such as Nursing, Massage Therapy, Cosmetology, and Esthetics and are thus without purview.
The consequences of this lack of regulation & oversight are far-reaching. Not only does it jeopardize the safety and well-being of patients, but it also undermines the integrity of the healthcare profession as a whole. We have seen firsthand the devastating impact of substandard education and training on patients and communities, leading to preventable injuries, infections, complications, and often permanent adverse outcomes. With the added wave of surgical procedures, the problems have become exacerbated, with state tax payers absorbing the bills of negligence even from non-state residents.
In response to these challenges, CSL Therapy has launched the Advanced Scholastic Trainer (AST) program- Initiative 3 of the Quality Educational Healthcare Reform Initiative. This accreditation program rigorously reviews educational materials and courses within the Body Altering Aesthetics industry to ensure adherence to best practices and standards of care. Since its inception in September 2022, the AST program has been instrumental in raising the bar for education and training in the field.
They are currently in the process of advocating for legislative measures to improve public safety in several states. However, we recognize that legislative change alone is not sufficient. We need the support and collaboration of health departments, boards of physicians, and regulatory bodies across the country to address these pressing issues comprehensively. These initiatives can be found on https://cslinitiatives.org/initiatives-main/.
- I am urging the Department of Education for my state to join me in my efforts to combat medical negligence & incompetence within the Body Altering Aesthetics industry.
- I am asking that you partner with CSL Therapy in executing safety initiatives for my family and community.
- I am asking you to Endorse the Quality Educational Healthcare Reform Initiatives
Together, we can ensure that all healthcare professionals receive the education and training necessary to provide safe, effective, and ethical care to their patients.
Sincerely,
